I had recently been introduced to alcohol inks, and have finally had some time to play with them. These are a couple of the 6×6″ trivets I have created using a combination of alcohol inks, india inks & stain glass outliner pen.

57 Chevy

I decided to do the ’57 Chevy on a 6×6 gallery wrapped canvas. I like it better the second time around. Now in a private collection.

I have signed up for the Creative Jumpstart 2016 (click on workshops when you get to the site). I have gotten some inspiration & have done these two piece from that.

My friend is modeling the jeans I had done a makeover on when she had gotten some paint stains on them. I had done a monoprinting on them. I really like how the jeans turned out, especially now that I see them being worn.

A friend had smeared paint on her white jeans. I told her to let me work on them instead of relegating them to work pants. I did monoprinting on front & back of the jeans, & now she has a unique work of art to wear. As someone told me, a new spin on hippie jeans!

I had gone to a car show in old Salem, NC earlier this year. They were holding their farmers tailgate market that day just down the block from where we were parked. I couldn’t resist going. They had an AWESOME display of fresh veggies, & it made me wish I lived closer to be able to take advantage of it more.

I saw these radishes for sale & just had to take a picture so I could paint them. Here’s the results.

I’ll be teaching a monoprint class at Arrowhead Gallery & Studios in Old Fort, NC, on November 14th from 1-4 PM.
Learn to make greeting cards and interesting abstracts that can be stand-alone pieces, collage or embellished upon further for really interesting work. You’ll be able to take home a minimum of 6 greeting cards & a piece that can be framed. No painting experience required. This is addictively fun! This is also great for quilters, fiber artist, sewing & stamping. You can use monoprinting techniques on fabrics, then use the prints in a finished piece. For stampers, it makes a great background to embellish on.
Classes are $30 for Arrowhead members, $40 for non members plus a $20 supply fee.
